Kaleiçi is Antalya's walled historic city centre. With narrow streets bearing traces of the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman eras, restored mansions and an ancient harbour, it is the city's most visited area.
Visitors usually enter Kaleiçi through Hadrian's Gate (Üçkapılar), built in the 2nd century AD to commemorate Emperor Hadrian's visit. Walking the stone-paved streets, you pass the Seljuk-era Yivli Minaret, the Roman-period Hıdırlık Tower and the Broken Minaret. The streets lead down to the historic marina, embraced by turquoise water.
Every street in Kaleiçi opens onto another century; walking here is reading Antalya's two-thousand-year story.
