Antalya Return Transfers and Check-out Planning

The Antalya return transfer is the stage of a holiday where most mistakes happen. On arrival day everything follows automatically from the landing time; on departure day you have to build the plan yourself, and two independent constraints apply at once: the flight time and the hotel's check-out time.
This guide explains how the hotel pick-up time is worked out, what to do with the gap between check-out and departure, and what to watch on early morning flights.
A departure plan is built backwards from the terminal, not forwards from the hotel.
How the pick-up time is calculated
The calculation has four steps and always works backwards from the flight:
- 1. Be at the terminal 3 hours before an international departure, 2 hours before a domestic one.
- 2. Add the driving time for your area (Lara 20 min, Belek 40 min, Side 75 min, Alanya 135 min).
- 3. Leave a 20% margin for traffic and a possible stop.
- 4. The result is your hotel pick-up time.
| Area | Pick-up for a 14:00 international flight |
|---|---|
| Lara / Kundu | ~10:20 |
| Antalya centre | ~10:15 |
| Belek | ~10:10 |
| Kemer | ~09:45 |
| Side / Manavgat | ~09:30 |
| Alanya | ~08:15 |
| Kaş | ~07:00 |
The gap between check-out and departure
Most hotels check out between 11:00 and 12:00. If your flight is in the evening, that leaves several hours. There are three practical ways to use it:
- Leave your luggage at reception. Almost all hotels store bags free of charge, so you can vacate the room and keep using the facilities.
- Ask for a late check-out. Subject to occupancy, hotels often allow 14:00–16:00; ask the day before.
- Plan a stop on the way. A break in Kaleiçi or a restaurant stop can be added on the way to the airport — possible with a private vehicle.
Knowing which of the three you will use lets us set the pick-up time correctly.
Planning around early morning flights
For departures between 06:00 and 08:00 the pick-up can fall close to midnight. A 07:00 flight from Alanya means being at the terminal by 04:00, which puts your hotel departure at around 01:15.
- Confirm the hotel's night reception and gate arrangements the day before.
- Remember you can request a breakfast box; many hotels prepare one for early departures.
- There is no traffic at night so the drive is shorter; keep the 20% margin, but we can work to the lower end of the range.
- Night departures are often easier with children, as they sleep in the car.
Frequently Asked Questions
What time will I be collected for my return transfer?
It is calculated backwards from your flight: three hours at the terminal for international departures, plus your area's driving time, plus a 20% margin. For a 14:00 flight from Side, that is around 09:30.
My check-out is long before my flight. What can I do?
You can leave your luggage at reception and keep using the hotel, request a late check-out, or plan a stop on the way to the airport.
When should I book the return transfer?
We recommend booking it together with your arrival transfer. In peak season this guarantees a vehicle and simplifies planning.
Will the plan update if my flight time changes?
Yes. Send us the new flight time and the pick-up is recalculated and the driver rescheduled.
Can we stop somewhere on the way to the airport?
With a private transfer, yes. Mention the stop in advance and it is built into the timing.
Is it hard to find a car for a night departure?
Not when booked in advance. Because overnight vehicle numbers are limited, booking early matters.

There is one rule for an Antalya return transfer: calculate backwards from the terminal, not forwards from the hotel. With your flight time, your area and your check-out plan in hand, the pick-up time is clear and the last day of the holiday stays as calm as the first.
